Lock your store with a password

Lock the store while you get it ready, or for a private sale. Open your store, then Settings › Can it sell?, and find Password page.

1. Tick Lock the store with a password. A password is made for you; change it if you like.
2. Write the message shoppers see, for example the day you open.
3. Save, then share the password with the people you want in.

Shoppers see your store's name, your message and a box to leave their email (they join your list). Anyone with the password shops as usual. Changing the password locks everyone out until they type the new one.

While the store is locked, search engines and product feeds can't see it, and only people with the password can order. Order pages, downloads and your legal pages stay open. Your own preview link still shows the store.
