Automations do routine work for you: when something happens to an order, they check it and act. Set them up in Settings › Automations.
- When: an order is placed, an order's status becomes (for example) Shipped, an order is refunded, or a customer asks for a return.
- Only if (optional): order total, number of items, payment, store, risk, products, city, delivery option, discount code, order tags, or the customer's orders so far.
- Then: tag the order, tag the customer, alert the team in the app, send an email (up to 5 addresses) or post to Slack.
Start from an idea, such as "Tag big orders and tell the team". Each automation acts on an order once at most, so it never repeats itself. Recent runs shows what each did.
